Bhagavad Gita Ch 1.40 - What is Varna Sankar

Varna Sankar refers to "unwanted population" or children born without following Vedic principles or the Garbhadhana Samskara.

The core purpose of human life is Atma-shuddhi (self-purification) to achieve God-realization. Varna Sankar is a state of social and spiritual chaos caused by the birth of "unwanted population"—children born without the guidance of elders or the performance of sacred Vedic rites like Garbhadhana Samskara. Arjuna’s deep fear in the Bhagavad-gita was that war would destroy the family elders, leaving women and traditions unprotected, eventually leading to a generation that neglects religious duties. This breakdown not only makes life "hellish" for the living but also causes the spiritual fall of ancestors who no longer receive necessary offerings like Pinda-dan, ultimately resulting in the total collapse of societal and moral order.
